Create an OpenRouter Account

Sign up at openrouter.ai.

  1. Go to https://openrouter.ai
  2. Click "Sign up" and create your account using email, GitHub, or Google
  3. Verify your email if you used email sign-up

Navigate to API Keys

Find the API Keys management page.

  1. After signing up, click the Get API Key button on the home screen
  2. You'll land on the API keys management page

Create an API Key

Generate your key with optional spending limits.

  1. Click "Create"
  2. Enter a descriptive name (e.g., "Mykey Chat")
  3. Optionally set a credit limit, reset schedule, and expiration
  4. Click "Create"

Copy and Save Your Key

Your key is shown only once.

  1. Copy the key immediately — format: sk-or-v1-xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx...
  2. Store securely in a password manager

Add Your Key to Mykey.chat

Connect your key in Mykey settings.

  1. In Mykey.chat, go to Settings → API Keys
  2. Select OpenRouter as the provider
  3. Paste your API key
  4. Click Save
